No excuse

No excuse for not taking very many pictures this week except the typical busy-ness that is life. Must get back into the swing of everyday photography!!

Today's shot is a self-portrait, taken in the van while waiting for C to come back from a quick run into the store. I'm not sure why my hair always looks so red in pictures, it doesn't look that red in the mirror?

Mangled

Finally got around to taking the J-man's mangled glasses back to the optician. They were able to bend them back fairly nicely, with only a little bit of missing paint. Hardly matters, getting him to keep them on his face is near impossible. 4 really is too young for glasses (yes, I know, Katie had them at three, but Katie is KATIE and Jonah is NOT).

Rock and Roll Bagpipers

Apparently coffee just isn't enough - the conference organizers had a pair of live bagpipers, accompanied by EXTREMELY loud recorded rock music. Hysterical laughter is indeed quite a way to perk up the morning :)

PS - they were actually very good, but man was that unexpected at a staid conference of health care professionals, accountants and regulators...

Well loafy got off the couch long enough to shock the heck out of us by jumping into Centennial Lake! The air was so cold that his skin steamed when he climbed back out!

We rented a trailer in the middle of nowhere for the weekend. James spent a ridiculous amount of time doing this (though I can't say I really blame him since it was stupidly cold!)

There was less on the toast than on his face

This was really cute when you were 9 months old.... it's getting a little tired now my wee man.

C got a new cell phone and of course had to order the memory card for it. I've never seen such a tiny card in my life (that's a DIME it's beside!!!) AND it's a 2 gig card! Blows my mind...

Check out my major score at the local Dollarama... sets of 5 coordinated spools of ribbon, nearly the same as American Crafts ribbons (1 meter of each pattern) for $1, packets of 36 bling brads, exactly like MM (in 6 different colours) for $1. My Dollarama rocks! It's hit and miss, but when they've just had a fresh shipment you can find some wicked little scrappin' treasures!

Empty nester

My wee little Wookie went to school today for the very first time, on a big school bus. I can't believe my tiny baby is going to maternelle, he's too young, I'm not ready yet...

The morning after

The next morning high winds and rain had flooded our makeshift fire pit on the beach (which is a pretty good ending actually when you think about it, no chance of setting the island on fire when your fire pit is under a couple of inches of water!)

Perfect end to the day

A fire on the beach, marshmallows and an incredible sunset, the perfect end to the perfect day in paradise.

Misty Morning

Cool, dense mist hanging over the field before the sun rose high enough to burn it off (taken at 6:48am).

Global warming?

I've never seen the water level so low at the cottage before. These rocks, beautiful as they are, are normally under a foot or so of water. Now they're high and dry. Weird.
