Flash freeze

Mild temperatures in the morning caused a huge run off from melting snow on the roof. By afternoon everything was frozen solid. Canada, eh.

Such a small pile, such a large hole.

Sunshine in a peel

Growing up in Canada citrus fruit was always a special treat. Even now when it's pretty widely available it retains that 'specialness'. This beautiful ruby grapefruit makes a Saturday morning breakfast worth smiling about.

Mmmm doughnuts....

Eesh, seems like we live in the doughnut store (well, we are Canadians after all!) After Wookie's needles this morning (pDTP and MMR) we got hot chocolate and a special treat, for my special brave boy.

Clean out your cupboards!

Eyew. Yup, the expiry date on this nacho cheese sauce I found in the back of the pantry does indeed say 2002. Eeeeeyew.

New paper

I admit it, I have a soft spot for scrapbooking paper... to the point where it's unlikely I'll ever be able to use everything I have. Unfortunately that doesn't stop me from buying more...

A bit of morning sunshine

Seriously, Sunday morning big breakfasts are among my favourite things in this life. Taken with my cellphone camera.

An early celebration

Celebrating C's big 40th birthday a little early at his parents' place (they won't be around for the big day).

Future scrapper

Wookie enjoyed cutting paper with my new cutter while I folded laundry and watched.

Many stamps were harmed...

Many stamps (ok, just 3) were harmed in the production of this photo :) Sharp Kai scissors and a sheet of EZ mount turned a set of three sort of useless SU stamps into 34 very useful message stamps for card making :)

We are family

C, his sister and aunt, at (believe it or not) his aunt's 70th birthday party (does she not look amazing!) We didn't get to stay and visit as long as we'd hoped. We really have no excuse for how infrequently we visit the Montreal side of his family.

New toy

I got a new toy from my sister-in-law (not the shovelling one :) ) - a cutter with a light. There's a lot of instructions and I've never seen anything like it before!

One man's trash is another man's treasure

Or in this case, white stuff that some of us are sick to death of is a novelty for my sister-in-law, who is spending her first winter in Canada. Who am I to discourage her from shovelling it... even if she is wearing pyjamas and using one of the bits' toy shovels :)
